HACKATHON ON IIOT THINGWORX AND AR VUFORIA STUDIO

 

Hackathon on PTC IOT Thingworx and AR Vuforia Studio had been organised by Adroitec at SASTRA University,TBI on Dec 19th and HACKATHON ON IIOT THINGWORX AND AR VUFORIA STUDIO was given on Dec 20th,2019.Students interested from various branches attended the Hackathon.

The Hackathon was inaugurated by Mr. Anantharaman, CEO at SASTRA TBI. We had Introduction session on AR Vuforia by Mr.Arun Raj from 10 to 11.30 followed by IOT Thingworx session by Mr.Sasikiran till 1.30pm.IOT Thingworx and AR Vuforia training was given from 2 to 4 pm. Environment set up and Team formation for Hacking using trial version of Thingworx and Vuforia was set up in students system.Problem statement was defined for the use cases planned.

The second day of Hackathon started with overview on PTC given by Mr.Suresh and also briefed on the job opportunities in learning PTC IOT and AR solutions. Teams on IOT and AR started Hacking on the below Application use cases assigned

•  Predictive Maintenance of Pumps 
•  Smart Farming Monitoring System 
•  Smart Building- Ambience Monitoring 
•  Air Pollution Monitoring System 
•  Use cases on AR( Real Estate Sales and Car service applications )

Students presented their IOT developed solution using Thingworx and AR using Vuforia studio in front of PTC, Adoitec team and SASTRA TBI staffs.

Valedictory : Mr.Suresh had selected the 2 best projects from IOT ( Smart Farming and Ambience Monitoring). He had mentioned the support provided by Adroitec team and appreciated all the students for their efforts put in 2 days for learning and execution of their projects.Requested the team to further work to improvise on the delivery and presentation of the project.

Hackathon ended with distribution of certificates to participants and announcement of prize money for top 2 projects.

SASTRA Students had given a positive feedback on the solution and the experience gained.
